Kyle P. Rudden
Co-Founder, Partner

Kyle Rudden is a co-founder of Target Rock Advisors and has over fifteen years of experience in the energy industry with an emphasis on corporate finance and capital markets.

Prior to starting Target Rock he was President and co-founder of R.J. Rudden Financial, LLC, an NASD (now FINRA) registered broker-dealer and independent energy industry research and advisory boutique. He led the firm through all phases of start-up including broker-dealer registration, and served as a principal member of the firm's Energy Workout Group created to provide financial, economic, technical, legal, and regulatory advice to institutional investors, investment and commercial banks, and law firms in the then-current electric power sector credit crisis. He also helped create the Rudden Energy Capital Markets Report, Rudden Composite Utility Index, and Rudden Strategic Position indexes now owned and published by global energy infrastructure firm Black & Veatch.

Before co-founding R.J. Rudden Financial Kyle spent nearly a decade as a sell-side equity analyst and Vice President at J.P. Morgan, where he initiated coverage of a critical infrastructure sector, headed the U.S. Utilities Equity Research Group, and co-headed its Global Utilities Equity Research Group, playing a key role in guiding J.P. Morgan's utility analysts and research product worldwide into an internationally-recognized team. Kyle was named in Institutional Investor and Wall Street Journal lists of top analysts, and participated in a number of large domestic and international equity and equity derivative underwritings, including initial public offerings, public secondary offerings, and private placements.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Kyle was a fixed income securities analyst at Fitch Investors Service (now Fitch Ratings), also covering the U.S. electric and natural gas utility industries.

He is a member of the Edison Electric Institute, a member of the Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment, an Organizational Sponsor of Global Reporting Initiative, and a Signatory to UN Principles of Responsible Investing.

Kyle received a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy with honors from Stony Brook University including concentrations in statistics, industrial and organizational psychology, and economics. Results of his multi-year statistical research project were published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
